Computer Based Training
OSIsoft now offers a Computer Based Training (CBT) Series of courses that are designed for you to get the most out of your PI server and client applications. Regardless of your level of knowledge or involvement, you can find a course that will help you learn more about using PI products.
The following classes are available (the on-demand library contains all of the courses):
Features
All of our CBT courses are voice and video recordings that are designed to be stand-alone applications and require the most minimal computer resources to make them as easy-to-use as possible.
Version 3.x of our CBTs have the features of version 2.x plus:
- All new recordings of voice and video that are based on user tasks.
- A keyword Search Engine that allows you to find specific videos on related topics will be added soon.
Version 2.x of our CBTs have the following features:
- Quizzes at the end of each section to test your knowledge
- A new "Site Search Page" that allows you to find a topic of interest located anywhere in the course.
- A new menu system that features hyperlinks within descriptive text as well as the traditional table of contents navigation method.
While these courses are not replacements for the interaction of a live OSIsoft training class, they will provide the same comprehensive information taught in our classes. Our CBTs are meant to be viewed interactively. That is, you can perform the same exercises that the instructors guide students through during our regular class. The accompanying documents make the class exercises available as well. You will need the applicable applications installed to perform the exercises.
Still Not Sure if The CBTs are Right for You?
If you are not sure if the course is right for you then try our demonstration version. It is listed as PI Computer Based Training (CBT) Demo and is free. It is a collection of clips from different courses. In it you can get a feel for what's offered in the full versions.
All Version 2.x CBTs are compliant with standard Learning Management Systems (LMS) for web delivery, test reporting, and user tracking. This offers customers student progress tracking and internet delivery via integration with a company wide LMS (through compliance with the SCORM v2.1 standard). Customers with a SCORM compliant LMS who want this version can contact Nick D'Orazio (nick@osisoft.com).
User progress and completion in the on-demand streaming version of the CBTs are not tracked in an LMS.
