Quick Start Kits

OSIsoft Training has released its first set of Quick Start Kits.  Each kit is designed to give you a quick overview of some part of the RtPM Platform.

Designed for the novice, they are easy to use and come with simple, direct instructions on how to set up and use them.  These Sample Kits are taken from some of the basic demonstrations we do in our classes.  Take the concepts and apply them to your own situations, or enroll in an OSIsoft training class for a more comprehensive education.

AF 2 Sample Kit

The AF 2 Sample Kit is an xml file that contains the basic structures of an AF 2 Element with all of the important attributes pre-configured: PI Point, Formula, Constant, and Table Lookup.  The formulas included show you how to use other element attributes.  Simply use any existing or create a new database in AF 2 and Import the xml files.  All tag references are to the default tags found on every PI Server.  Everything should work "right out of the box" and you will have an element that you can use in your displays or web parts.

This kit requires the following licensed products: PI AF 2 Server and a PI Server.  It also requires the PI System Explorer (also referred to as the AF 2 Client), a free utility that is downloaded from our support site.

PI Batch Sample Kit
The PI Batch Sample kit has everything you need to set up a quick PI Batch simulation, using the existing default tags on your server.  For the tags that aren’t there, we give you a predefined spreadsheet you can use with our Tag Configurator to create them quickly.  The sample makes use of the latest PI Batch Generator Interface and Configuration Tool.  Get a sample PI Batch up and running quickly.

This kit requires the following licensed products: PI ProcessBook and PI BatchView, and a PI Server version 3.3+ with the PI Server Applications.  It also requires the Module Database Loader and the System Management Tools 3, free utilities that are downloaded from our support site.
