Airports
Most students will be flying international flights coming in through Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport (formerly Dorval Airport), Montreal Quebec. (Airport code YUL). There are car rental services at the airport, or if you want to take advantage of downtown Montreal's excellent subway system (called the Metro), take a Taxi from the airport to the downtown area - this is a fixed rate of $35 CAD. Allow 45 minutes to/from the airport (more if during the commuting hours of 7-9 a.m. and 4-7 p.m.).
Occasionally students leave a class early to make better airline connections. We try to arrange the classes so that the most important topics are taught first. However, when you must leave early we believe you are missing material that is important (or we would not include it in the class).
Visa/Passport
Beginning January 8, 2007, all US travelers entering Canada are required to provide a valid passport. If you are a permanent resident of the U.S, you must bring your Permanent Resident Card (i.e., green card) with you. A driver’s license or Social Security card is NOT valid proof of citizenship. Aérobus
You can take Aérobus that goes straight from the Dorval airport to a stop about 2 blocks from the hotels listed above. The stop is in front of the Queen Elizabeth hotel. The bus costs about $13.00 US each way. Credit cards are accepted. Additionnal information available here:
Walking
The training center is within 3-4 blocks of most of the recommended hotels and is an easy walk. (The Hotel Place d'Armes is a 20 minute uphill walk.) The network of underground shops and walkways near the office make it unnecessary to rent an automobile if you want easy access to restaurants and shopping.
